As Director of Propulsion and Powerplant Systems, John leads the design, test, and certification of Overture’s propulsion systems. A longstanding veteran in the aerospace industry, John brings more than 30 years of product development and production experience to Boom’s engineering team.
Prior to Boom, John led design and development programs across the aerospace industry, including roles at Gulfstream Aerospace, Nordam Group, Pratt & Whitney Canada, and Bell Helicopter. He joined Boom from Nordam Group, where he was responsible for design activities across the company’s four corporate divisions. As Engineering Director at Gulfstream, John led development of powerplant systems, environmental controls, fuel and oxygen, as well as acoustics and thermodynamics. Beginning his career at Bell Helicopter, John gained meaningful experience supporting the design and certification of four new helicopter programs, as well as the production and product improvements of existing models. He brought that expertise with him at Pratt & Whitney Canada, where he focused on integrating new turboshaft engines into helicopter programs.
John earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Concordia University. He holds a certificate in Aircraft Technology from Ecole Nationale D’Aerotechnique, and is a graduate of the Gulfstream Management Development Program. When he is not working, John enjoys spending time outdoors, boating, playing golf, and skating, as well as designing and building items from repurposed materials.
