Overture in flight at dusk, high above a glowing horizon

Overture: The world's
fastest airliner

Mach 1.7. Half the travel time. Fares similar to today's business class.

Overture will fly passengers between global destinations in half the time of today's aircraft, with orders and pre-orders from United, American and Japan Airlines.

What is supersonic flight?

Supersonic flight means flying faster than the speed of sound, about 660 mph at 60,000 ft. Overture cruises at Mach 1.7, around 1,100 mph and twice the speed of today’s airliners.

Symphony: an engine built for supersonic flight

A shared core for power and flight

No off-the-shelf engine could do this, so Boom is building its own. Symphony shares its core with Superpower, Boom’s natural gas turbine. Once Superpower enters service, its operating experience and reliability data will help inform Symphony’s development.

sustainable aviation fuel

Designed to run on up to 100% SAF

Our goal is to connect the world faster with net-zero carbon emissions. Designing Overture for 100% SAF is a key step toward that future.
