As Senior Director of Avionics & Electrical Systems Engineering, Eli Oleksiak is responsible for leading the development, design, testing, certification, and sustaining of Overtures avionics, electrical systems, and EWIS (Electrical Wiring Interconnect System). In addition to leading the Avionics & Electrical Systems teams, Eli also leads the Iron Bird and labs team, which is responsible for building and maintaining Boom’s Iron Bird, ITFs (Integration Test Facility), SIB (Systems Integration Bench), extended realities, and simulation packages.
Prior to Boom, Eli was the Engineering Director at Safran Electrical & Power, where he led a multi-disciplinary engineering team of electrical, mechanical, software, test, and manufacturing engineers supporting development, production, and sustaining for both commercial and military programs. Eli has also led avionics & electrical systems teams at Gulfstream Aerospace supporting sustaining, development, and special missions programs. Additional engineering experience came from UTC & Steris (Defense & Aerospace).
Eli earned his Bachelor of Science in Electronic Engineering and Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Cleveland State University. Prior to earning his degrees, Eli was also a non-commissioned officer in the United States Marine Corps with deployments to Iraq, Philippines, and Japan, among other places around the world.
