Jeff is the founder and CEO of Atomic Machines, a company bringing to the world a radical advancement in micromanufacturing at the intersection of artificial intelligence and robotic matter manipulation.
Prior, Jeff has the statistically improbable distinction of having helped build three hypergrowth companies from the early days: Amazon, Groupon and Uber. After getting his BS and MS in computer science from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, Jeff joined D. E. Shaw & Co. in NYC, where his first manager was Jeff Bezos. Five years later, he followed Bezos to Amazon, joining as engineer #10. He inherited a modem and a shell script, and from that inauspicious beginning, led the development of the global supply chain and fulfillment technology, later joining the S-Team and delivering Amazon Prime.
After Amazon, Jeff founded Pelago to bring Amazon-like recommendations to cities. He sold Pelago to Groupon and became SVP, Product and joined the IPO roadshow team. Fast forward a few years, and Jeff joined Uber as Chief Product Officer. His first deliverable was the ability to enter one’s destination into the rider app. He went on to spearhead Uber’s self-driving effort (ATG), Uber Elevate, catalyzing the eVTOL industry, Uber Eats, AI Labs and UberPool, leaving in 2018 after four years of meteoric growth.
