Rob McGinnis is Founder and CEO of Prometheus, a Silicon Valley startup that turns atmospheric CO2 into zero net carbon gasoline, diesel, and jet fuels that are superior to fossil fuels at a lower price. Previously, McGinnis founded Mattershift, where he developed the first commercial-scale carbon nanotube membrane to produce medicines and chemicals from molecular building blocks. Prior to Mattershift, McGinnis was Co-Founder and CTO of Oasys Water, which introduced forward osmosis technology to reduce the energy and cost of zero-waste desalination by more than 50 percent.
As the author of over 20 patents, McGinnis invented the first DAC CO2-to-fuels process that can produce drop-in replacements for fossil fuels, the first scalable CNT membrane, and the high efficiency forward osmosis desalination process. Rob is a Veteran of the U.S. Navy Explosive Ordnance Disposal teams, where he received a Navy Commendation Medal for valor in clearing naval mines off the coast of Iraq. He has a PhD in Engineering from Yale University.
